Patrick Santos is a Canadian self taught drummer known for reimagining classical music with modern drum kit arrangements. Asking the question, “What if classical music had drums?”, Patrick creates performances and recordings that highlight the original compositions while adding a fresh perspective. His goal is to introduce new audiences to classical music through inventive, contemporary interpretations. Since 2021, he has shared this concept on social media, building a community of classical music enthusiasts, performing artists, and drummers. His work has drawn attention from both the classical music and ballet worlds, attracting thousands of followers from professional musicians, orchestras, principal dancers and ballet companies. In 2025 Patrick released his first self-produced album, Classical Meets Modern Drums. Featuring drum arrangements blended with popular classical works, including pieces from Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons, Swan Lake, and Dance of the Knights. His videos also led him to collaborations with classical crossover pianist Maksim Mrvica, performing in venues including the Mercedes-Benz Arena in Shanghai, the Sydney Opera House, and venues across China, South Korea, Malaysia, and more. Patrick’s work has been featured on Classical FM, reposted by Modern Drummer, and has garnered millions of views online. Currently, he is creating videos online while preparing for additional international tours, continuing to blend classical repertoire with modern drums and engage audiences worldwide.
